~ Autumn Goodness ~
Autumn - what is not to love about this time of year? This is my absolute favorite season and has been for as long as I can recall.
Autumn means enjoying:
Crisp mornings and evenings
Cooler, mild days
Beautiful tree colors
Weekend adventures of long drives and picnic lunches in the country
Trips to the mountains for fresh from-the-farm apples and pumpkins
Sipping on fresh apple cider - warmed or chilled
Attending Fall & Craft Festivals
Indulging in Festival Foods such as:
caramel apples
fried pies
corn dogs
kettle corn
More cooking and baking efforts
Wearing favorite sweaters and cooler weather clothing
To Do List:
Setting up the hot cocoa tray to include :
container of mini marshmallows
containers of homemade and store bought hot cocoa selections
special mugs
ensuring the fridge contains whipped cream
Putting up Autumn Door Decor
Planting mums in containers for the front porch
The beginning of endless leaf raking and bagging
Purging closets and dressers of not worn, no longer liked, wanted or needed items
into donation bags
Changing out seasonal clothing.
One thing I have been doing this year with my collection of correspondence items is to group and use by theme or season. I've picked out all the traditional fall colors and items such as pumpkins, apples and leaves, etc. My intention is to primarily use these items for all of my corresponding in October and November. While Autumn does start in September, true Autumn for me starts October 1st. I would like to know if you do theme mailings or select certain types or styles of stationery, note cards, etc for specific seasons or times of the year.

~ Thrifty-Thursday Finds ~
I have been trying to be on a Thrifting diet. Mainly because I absolutely have enough correspondence items currently at home. There are days where I am on a bit of auto-pilot and I find myself at a local Thrift shop to "just look around". Ha! My fellow Thrifters know what that means. You are almost guaranteed a "find" with that thought process!
New set of stationery with matching envelopes. Price: $1.29
Boxed, new set of 20 fairy note cards with envelopes. Price: $1.91
New, Qty 50 #10 letter sized envelopes Price: $.77
New, Qty 36 Smile Face Bulletin Board Accents $.99
Who doesn't love a smile? I'll be thinking of creative ways to utilize these!
A few weeks ago I treated myself to a $20.00 shopping spree at Michael's. While Michael's is not a traditional Thrift Store, there are plenty of bargains on any given day. I just love perusing the aisles and bins, getting lost in my thoughts and discovering great finds. I found great paper/writing inspirations at absolute bargain prices. These included Note Card sets, Paperpad Mousepads, Lined and Unlined Note Pads. I was so happy to find lined items as I much prefer to write with pre-printed lines. I'm super self conscious at how wavy and wonky my writing gets using unlined paper; but I continue to push through those insecurities. Many that you see below I picked up in multiple quantities. Because I hate using up favorite items and, I like to share. Can't you just imagine all the fun letters that will be written on these items?
What have you treated yourself to lately?

~ Mid-Week Mail Bag ~
As you may know, I have a fondness for aerogrammes. This week two arrived in the mail bag.
Lately, a topic of discussion with some pen friends is handwriting/penmanship and writing preferences.
One friend's habit of printing, is now writing in cursive. They commented that they had not written in cursive in quite a long time and it took some practice to get back in the swing of it. After a few weeks, they are now finding cursive to be faster for them. What is your preference in daily writing and when corresponding?

~ Mid-Week Mail Bag ~
Ahhh, September! What a welcomed sight! Good-bye sweltering Summer heat. Although, I am sure we will continue to have 90sF/low 30sC temperatures before Autumn really sets in. I am positive the 100sF/high 30sC are now behind us.
As of this writing, I am confident that the majority of schools/students are back into their full schedule/routine. To all the Educators and Students I wish you a year of successful and meaningful exchanges of knowledge and experiences. Do you remember your first day or a first day of school?
Hello Mail Bag!
Beautiful postcards from Pals on their holiday travels. Oh the joys of travel and tourism. How nice to be able to hear about their exciting holiday adventures. I continue to be in awe of the beautiful handwriting in the letters I am graced with. I do not know how you do it, but I very much appreciate the time it takes to write your letters. Merci!
